Planners
The Planner is an important tool that insures good communication between home and school on a daily basis.
We spend time everyday using our planers. All assignments and class information will be written on our Planner Board. Students are required to copy this information into their planners at the end of everyday. There will always be something to write. It is the responsibility of the student to write down ALL assignments from the Planner Board. At times, I will use the Planner to write messages to parents.
Please help your child by reading the message every evening, insure that all homework has been completed, and sign to indicate that you have done so.
I check the Planners every morning for parent's signatures and notes.

Homework
Aside from test preparation and special projects, adequate class time will be given for students to complete assignments. If students do not finish their work in the given time during class, it is expected that it will be finished as homework. If you notice your child is consistently bringing home homework and incomplete assignments it is because they are not using their time appropriately in class. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about homework.
Students should be reading every evening. When students read independently, it is important for parents to ask their child what they are reading about in order to check comprehension and practice retelling skills. Parents should also have their child read aloud to them regularly to help improve fluency.
Students should be regularly doing home reading, practicing weekly spelling words and reviewing math facts.
